FAQ
What types of projects does SamGreen Engineering handle?
Our work spans a wide range of sectors including residential, industrial, institutional, and international design. We support everything from home remodels to heavy equipment anchorage, seismic risk assessments, and structural design for public buildings like schools and hospitals.
Are you licensed to work outside Washington State?
Yes. SamGreen Engineering holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington (WA), Oregon (OR), Idaho (ID), and Ohio (OH). For projects outside these states, we may be able to collaborate or assist under specific conditions—please contact us to discuss your project's location.
Do you only work on new home designs?
Not at all. We work on both new homes and remodels, including additions, conversions, and structural upgrades. We also assist with site planning, permit coordination, and city subdivision requirements.
Can you help me navigate the permit process?
Yes. We provide permit-ready drawings and help coordinate with city reviewers, including responding to correction comments and clarifying structural concerns.
Do you provide engineering support during construction or maintenance?
Yes. We assist with construction sequencing, shoring/bracing design, maintenance evaluations, and field inspections. We also provide retrofit strategies and equipment anchorage designs.
Can you act as a technical consultant or expert witness?
Yes, we offer technical reviews, documentation, and expert witness support in legal or insurance-related structural cases.
What do you need to start on a project?
Depending on the project, we typically need architectural plans or concept layouts, a site survey, and relevant geotechnical information.
Do you provide field services or site visits?
Yes. We perform site visits as needed, especially for remodels, retrofits, and construction-phase support. We also provide inspection notes and ongoing consultation during installation or construction.
